Flame is an easy-going, large, young rooster who was rescued from a ritual slaughter, along with 5 other chickens. He is fluffy and bold, and would make a good guardian for a flock of free-ranging hens. He also does well in a bachelor flock, as he is currently living.
Penny was rescued from a custom slaughterhouse in L.A. She is independent and does well in virtually any social dynamic -- from having one solo partner to living in a large flock.
We have 8 of these lovely, high-spirited leghorn ladies who lived their first 2 years crammed into barren, wire cages inside an huge warehouse so they could make the cheap eggs you see at the supermarket. They are well-adjusted and very active!
Red Egg-Farm Refugees
Hens rescued from the egg industry look scruffy and threadbare upon arrival, but within a week, their true personalities emerge -- confident and gregarious. Within a few months, their feathers grow in, plush and vibrant.
Benji and his twin brother Dragonfly were abandoned in a parking lot. They are best buddies and would do great adopted as a pair of fluffy, cute companions to a flock of hens.
Screecher and Chip
Screecher was trying to rescue his girlfriend chip from a dog attack when they were both rescued from a public park. Although he is a small bantam rooster, he is dominant over all other roosters. They are bonded and must be adopted as a pair.
Fluffernutter was abandoned in a park. He is so mild-tempered that he currently lives with the "special needs" hens (blind or permanently injured) in a pen separate from the larger flock. He doesn't perch and needs a ground-level coop to sleep in at night.
Slim is a fairly small "naked neck" rooster, sometimes known as a "turken." He's a fairly middle-of-the road kind of rooster, neither the bullied nor a bully. He likes to do his own thing with his band of chicken friends rather than snuggle with humans.
Dragonfly was abandoned in a parking lot with his twin brother, Benji. The are both fluffy-footed little cochin roosters and are very mild-tempered around both chickens & people!
Ace & company
Ace is a handsome, bold gamecock who is beloved by his coterie of egg-farm hens. They are a family and can be adopted as a package, for a ready-made flock!
